She’s A Leader is about inspiring women to lead themselves as well as leading others. Women have natural leadership skills with their acute sixth sense (intuition) and their innate emotional intelligence. However, even with these indisputable strengths, women are still taking the back seat both personally and professionally.
According to Forbes, “as of July 2013, there were only 19 female elected presidents and prime ministers in power around the globe. In the business world, women currently hold only 4.6 percent of Fortune 500 CEO positions and the same percentage of Fortune 1000 CEO positions.” So, if women have such unique qualities and abilities, why is there still such a gap in women leaders in the workplace and around the globe as compared to their male counterparts?
This question has raised a lot of discussion recently on a national level and it is spreading like wildfire! Women’s leadership meetings such as “Lean In circles”, founded and initiated by Sheryl Sandberg, Facebook’s COO, are small peer groups designed to “create a community that provides regular encouragement and support.” It’s with education, support and inspiration that women will tap into their strengths, utilize their abilities and give themselves permission to say YES to just how far they want to go in their lives both personally and professionally.
